HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF OUR COMPASSIONATE CHURCH FAMILY
If you feel God is leading you to unite or if you just want to know about our church and its mission, please complete a Candidate for Church Membership Form located in the vestibule or CONNECT to attend our Membership Orientation Class.
You may also complete the connection form at any time or,
You may also come forward during our Worship Service or any other Church Service when the Pastor extends the invitation to discipleship.
NEW MEMBERS CLASS
The church provides a new members' course for all church members. We have materials that help a new Christian get a "jump start" in their Christian growth.
The training also provides an opportunity for newcomers to "tell their story."
Helping new church members get a good start as a follower of Jesus Christ is a must at Compassionate Tabernacle of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
Our goal is to assist our newcomers in becoming full-fledged members who will grow as a disciple of the Lord.
Although this is a significant challenge, we believe in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) that:
1. A ministry is successful if disciples are being developed
(reaching, keeping, nurturing, sending)
2. A ministry is successful if people are assimilating into the church's life.
3. A ministry is successful if new members are being taught how to move into ministry, effective discipleship, and multiplication.
After successfully completing the New Member Training, the newcomer becomes a full-fledged member of Compassionate and is appropriately acknowledged on the 1st Sunday 10:00 a.m. worship when the congregation extends the right hand of fellowship.
