A Rebuke from the Lord

Although God had instructed them in every detail of life, Israel continually turned to the ways of the nations around them. They added bad ethics and worship of false gods to the plan God had for them. When the evil reached its limit, God disciplined them through persecution by other nations, drought, crop failure, disease, and adverse weather. Sometimes the people repented. In this week's lesson, Amos points out that this behavior will soon result in divine correction.
