Lord, Teach Us to Pray

Mar 23, 2025    Pastor James Burgess

In our exploration of prayer, we're reminded that it's not about rituals or self-praise, but about aligning our hearts with God's will. The disciples' request, 'Lord, teach us to pray,' echoes our own need for guidance in genuine communication with our Creator. We're challenged to move beyond crisis-driven prayers and embrace a lifestyle of constant awareness of God's presence. The key isn't in the words we use, but in the posture of our hearts. Are we living under God's influence, considering His perspective in all we do? This message encourages us to delight in the Lord, trusting His timing and purposes even when we can't see the full picture. As we align ourselves with God's will, we find that every prayer is answered – sometimes with a 'yes,' sometimes with a 'not now,' and sometimes with a loving 'no' that redirects us to His better plan.
