Deborah Encourages Barak

Deborah is the only woman among the judges raised by God to deliver Israel. She was already a prophetess when she challenged Barak to revolt against the Cannanites. Deborah was already held in high esteem for her work as a settler of civil disputes. Perhaps that is why fearful Barak insisted that Deborah go with him to battle.
